A musical collaboration between your favorite chamber orchestra and the beloved choral group Volti, this program will feature a major new work by our BMI Foundation Composer-in-Residence at the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra, Pulitzer Prize finalist Michael Gilbertson. Denial, written for the SFCO, Volti, and the amazing young musicians of the Piedmont East Bay Children’s Choir, is based on current writings on climate change and promises to be a powerful and moving work. Also on the program, concertmaster Robin Sharp performing Vaughan-Williams’ hauntingly beautiful The Lark Ascending.
